Monthly Favourites #3 - June

Hello everyone!

It's time for another monthly faves! I'm still going with my method of keeping away from beauty things and do the little categories I've chosen below!!

Song
I found my Avril Lavigne albums at the start of the month and I've been obsessed. Hello Kitty has been on repeat for a majority of the month, so much so that I've even learned the lyrics to it at long last. The video was classed as 'racist' when it was released last year and I still can't find anything wrong with it... Anyway, listen to it if you haven't already!!

Picture
My favourite picture from this month has to be this one of my and my sister Ash from the other week! These are toothpaste rollers from China, and we just decided this would be funny to do!

TV Show
Community finished their sixth season this month and I have to say it wasn't the best one and I didn't really get into it - but it was still good to watch. There were some funny episodes and of course there was a paintball one! Not sure if there will be a season seven, but I know I'll still watch it!

Movie
Jurassic World. OMG LOVED IT. Went to see this three days after it was released, and it was awesome. I'm now madly in love with the idea of the Raptor Squad - search this on tumblr if you don't know what this is - you're missing out! I loved Claire in her heels, Owen being a badass, and it was just amazing to see a film from the franchise I loved so much as a kid.

Hope you enjoyed these faves for June! What have you loved this month from each category? Let me know! Hope you have a great day and keep safe!

Good To Go Anywhere Trio | Review

Hello everyone!

In my You Beauty Discovery box this month, I received this free sample of a relatively new product called 'Good To Go Anywhere' which is a trio set of handy wet wipes and a tissue. I thought the concept was pretty good, so I checked out their website and had a look about and to read more about them. You can buy these from their website for £2.49 for one trio, or £7.25 for nine trios.

There is a cleansing wipe, a sanitising wipe and a tissue. All are hypoallergenic, flushable and dermatologically tested. The sachets are each quite small so they will fit in pockets and any handbags, so they are easy to transport.

The sanitising wipe is in the blue sachet and can be used to clean off dirty or sticky hands, any dirty surfaces and for anything that needs a wipe before using. As they are flushable, they'd be perfect to use in toilets when on the go! The wipe is quite soft and had no scent to it, so won't leave you feeling dirty!

There is also tissue in the trio in the green sachet, which can be used for spillages, toilet usage or anything else you'd use tissues for. The tissue is really thick and strong, quite like a kitchen paper towel, and is about three times the size of the sachet - perfect for smaller situations. Again this is flushable, so if caught short, you can use this!

Finally the yellow sachet has the cleansing wipe, which is pretty much the same as the sanitising wipe, but more for cleaning up any messes or just giving the hands a quick wipe when needed. Me and my sister expected this to be lemon scented, but again it is just super soft and has no real scent to it.

I think these would be really handy for parents, or for festivals and picnics - just in time for the summer season! The fact you could use these in public toilets or just on the go in general, are perfect. It's also a lot lighter than carrying around a dozen packs of wipes, tissues and Purell.

The prices aren't too bad either, the three box deal seems to be pretty good as you're getting nine trios in total! I'll definitely be taking these on my Cornwall holiday as I always find I need one of these now and again!

Have you heard of these before, and will you buy them? Let me know! Hope you have a great day and keep safe :)

Aussie Dry Shampoo - Aussome Volume | Review

Hello everyone!

I've been trying out some new dry shampoos recently as a 'pick me up' while staying at the boyfriend's house. This Aussie Dry Shampoo is for fine, limp hair and is also good for giving the hair some more volume. This is the 180ml version and retails at £4.71 in Boots.

It has Jojoba Seed Extract in it, so the smell is quite strong, but it does work wonders. The nozzle is a standard spray device and allows a decent amount of product to come out. I found that I only needed about four to six sprays of this for my hair to look good again. Any more and it still works well, but I find my hair to be a little heavier.

The scent is very strong too, likely due to the Jojoba seed, but the smell fades after a while so it's not too bad. The volume is pretty good as well, especially at the roots as it says on the canister. Overall it's a pretty good product and I'll definitely buy it again once this runs out!

Have you tried this at all, and how did you find it? Let me know! Hope you have a great evening and keep safe :)

A Game Of Thrones Tag

Hello everyone!!

I thought I would take part in some of the tag blogs/videos that are on the web at the moment - and what is more topical than Game Of Thrones. The season five finale is this weekend, so thought this was a perfect fit for the week's blog post! I found this one relating to the Game of Thrones / A Song of Ice and Fire series a while ago, and thought I would share some of my insights on the series!

Questions:

  1. How did you discover the series/book?
    • I saw a thousand odd gifs from the TV show on tumblr during the first three seasons and eventually began watching it - I then found out it was based on a book series and went to get them the following week! I've only got one book left to go!!
  2. Who is your favourite house, other than the Starks and Lannisters?
    • House Targaryen, even though that is literally only Dany. I like the symbol and the motto and who doesn't love dragons??
  3. Who is your favourite character from House Stark?
    • Arya
  4. Who is your favourite character from House Lannister?
    • Tyrion
  5. Who is your favourite character?
    • I quite like Arya's story and she's progressed a lot from that little girl in the first books!
  6. Who is your least favourite character?
    • It used to be Joffrey, but then he choked to death (yay!) and now I currently LOATHE Ramsey Snow/Bolton. He's a moron and I pray that he dies in the book I've yet to read as he is just vile.
  7. What are your thoughts on the series/book?
    • There are some parts of the books that really drag and find a little slow, but other parts are jaw dropping moment! I'm just curious to see all the changes in the TV show and how they're ending as some of the storylines are so different from the books...
  8. If you could be one of the characters, who you would you be and why?
    • I'd like to say Arya, but she has so much crap happen to her that I would prefer to be Daenerys as she has dragons, Darrio and wears some pretty awesome outfits.
  9. Who is your favourite episode/season?
    • Fave episode has to be season five, episode 8 - 'Hardhome.' White Walkers, Wights, Night's Watch and Wildlings in the BEST fight scene known to man, all finalising with the best 'come at me bro' from the Night King at the end. Poor Jon Snow.
  10. Who is your Game of Thrones crush?
    • Jon Snow
  11. What are you most looking forward to in the upcoming season/book?
    • I'm looking forward to more of the White Walkers, Cersei's trial and what the heck is going on with Arya and Dany at the moment. I'm about at the same stage in the books as I am in the TV show, so there is so much left to be shown! Plus there's another two books coming out at some point, and they will be amazing.

If you are a GOT fan and want to do this tag, then please do and link me so I can see what your answers are! Hope you liked this little tag as I would love to do more. Hope you're having a great day and keep safe :)

MAC Eye Shadow - Mythology

Hello everyone!

For Christmas I'd asked my Dad to get me two MAC eye shadows and this is one of them! After he'd had a heart attack over the price of them, I chose this one as it's a nice golden-neutral shade, which is just perfect for me. I'd actually seen this one in a MAC store, and hadn't bought it there and then, so I knew I liked it before buying it online. I picked it up from Debenhams at £13.

It's lush.

I has a slight shimmer to it, which is something I like for both day and night wear. Like my other MAC shadows, I found this was really pigmented, which means I don't have to put so much on for it to be opaque. It's really pigmented and the colour is nice and strong.

Considering this is only my third MAC product, I am really pleased with it. I'm even turning to the idea of buying a lot more of their eye shadows because they are just so good!! Though they are quite expensive for the size, the quality cannot be faulted at all.

Have you tried this shade, and if not, what do you think? Let me know! Hope you have a great day and keep safe :)
