Monthly Favourites #10 - January

It's that time of the month where I look back and share some of my fave things with you! Ranging from songs, TV and movies, to whatever lies in the random section!

Song

I seemed to be a bit behind with the music after Christmas, but this is one song that has been sticking out to me over the past few weeks! I love the tune, the lyrics and it's just a really good song!

TV Show

I have loved this show since 2013, and managed to catch up with it all before the final season and the ending so none of it was spoiled for me!

Movie

Having seen Spectre a couple month ago, I still didn't like it as much as Skyfall! So I ended up re-watching it this month and it was just as amazing as I remember it! How was this 4 years ago???

Random Section

So for the random section, I've gone with this image of my Dad with a hot tub! He's always liked the finer things in life - even if he can't always afford them - and he spotted this and liked it so much I had to take his picture! We got to spend a whole day together as I had a random Saturday off work, and that's the first time I've seen him for more than a few hours, for MONTHS.

Lovi Sweets

My sister Ash has been after some sweets for what seems like YEARS. All we could remember was they were hard boiled sweets with a soft/jelly-like centre and tasted fruity. We've searched countless sweet shops, supermarkets and those 'old style' sweets shop near every pier and beach we've been near. Yet we never found them.

HOWEVER, after some genius on Facebook posted something similar, I went on a hunt for said sweets, and came across Lovi Sweets. The sweets are called Fruit Bon Bons (or Fruitinettes) and I had to buy some!

I had a little browse and added in some Strawberry Millions as well and this is what I always have from sweet shops! There are load of different types of confectionery available with set weights, and you can just add them into your basket and buy them!

They arrived in a nice sturdy box with what I call 'fake hay' packaging, and the sweets are wrapped in their own little cellophane bags with the brand's logo stuck on it to seal it shut. They'd be ideal to give away as gifts as they're all ready to go!

I'll definitely be buying some more from Lovi Sweets soon as they have such a selection and the prices are great! Also, go check them out on Twitter and show them some love!

Things I'm Looking Forward To In 2016

There's a lot happening this year that I'm quite looking forward too (which also means I need to save up a lot) and I wanted to share them with you. 2015 was a pretty awesome year in my opinion and I'm hoping that 2016 is just as amazing!

A Hen Party

I'm going to a Hen party for an old friend Emma at the start of July and I'm both excited and seriously nervous. I can't say much about it (in case she reads this!) but it's going to be a big group of her family, plus some of her friends, and it is so out of my comfort zone!

Emma & Ed's Wedding

Emma is getting married in July and I'm so excited to be going! This is the first, and only, wedding of the year for me!

Booking Florida

We've been planning a holiday to Florida for over 600 days now and we're now down to less than 600! We need to book this sometime after the summer so we can go in 2017, and I'm really excited to book all of the things we will need to go on the trip. I'm so sad...

My Blog Is 3 Years Old

October 3rd is my 3 year 'blogoversary' which I am super impressed with. I honestly thought I'd give up after 6 months, so this something I never thought would happen! I'll have to break out a seriously awesome giveaway when the time comes...

Yours Clothing Haul

I love clothes shopping. I spent far too much on new clothes each month and recently I've been loving Yours Clothing, a plus size brand doing size 14-36 with really good quality clothes that are just so beautiful! I've been buying from them a lot over the past year, and have yet to be disappointed with their products or their customer service. You can also find them over on Twitter.

I recently bought four items from them during their sale, and I thought I'd share them so you can see just how amazing they all are!

I adore these clothes, especially the over-sized top and the denim skirt! I've got some great outfit ideas for them come summer time!

NO7 Advent Calendar Reviews - Body Wash

One of the Advent Calendars I got was the NO7 one from Boots. It was £38 and had 25 different samples of products from the NO7 range. Now I've tested them all, I'm going to do a review of them all!

Onto day 2, which was the Blissful Body Wash. It retails at £9 for 250ml, which I think is pretty expensive for a body wash! Obviously I only have a sample size, which is less than HALF THE SIZE of the large tube!!!

I tried this out in the shower with a body poof and warm water. Immediately hated it. Again, like the Day Cream, the scent is awful. I only used it on my arms, before switching to my Zoella one to do the rest of my body. I have an eczema patch on my left elbow and this product really irritated it, so be extra careful if you have any skin conditions.

The only good thing is that is left my arms feeling smooth like it says on the tube. If you can get past the scent, then you may like this product!

NO7 Advent Calendar Reviews - Day Cream

First up is item #1, which is the Protect & Perfect Advance Day Cream. It retails at £24.95 for 50ml, which is quite a hefty price tag for such a small tub! Obviously I only have a sample size, which is HALF THE SIZE of the large tub!!! Mind-boggling.

It has an SPF 15 factored in, so this is perfect for use under foundation and other makeup to keep your skin soft and supple all day long.

I tried this out after a shower so my face was nice and clean. It is meant to help with anti-aging and wrinkles... Well I'm 23 so haven't got those 'issues' yet, but I know when the times comes, I wont be using this.

I didn't like it at all. The scent is not one I enjoy at all, but as usual, scent is down to personal preference. It reminded me of Plaster of Paris! It dried my face out and made it feel really tight, which was quite uncomfortable. More than anything it was the scent. I had to wash my face an hour later as it really lingers! Definitely won't try this again.

Procrastination Queen

So I'm writing this on Sunday while I should be at work. I came home early as I was really ill all day, and working with food is not the place to be when every scent makes you want to find the nearest bucket...

So the first week of January is already over and we're now onto week two! I've taken a quick look at my resolutions, and so far not too bad, but I could have done better... I've managed just over 2000 words for my book, learnt 2 words in French, and a few others off the list! I'm quite proud about those 2000 words for my book, even if it was while really tired on Saturday night after work!

Other than that, I've really procrastinated since Christmas hit. You think I'm joking? I've not sorted out a whole bag of presents yet. IT HAS BEEN 18 DAYS.

I've slowly been doing bits here and there, but I'm lacking all motivation to let go of the festive season as it doesn't feel like it's happened. The lead up to the holidays was really full on, but Christmas week went to fast - I blinked and it was 2016.

I've used a lot of the items I received, but I've still got some beauty products, geeky items and jewelry to put away. Buuuuuut nope. It's just sat in the bag to the side of my bedroom and looking very out of place... Someone come help me organise it all?

2016 Goals

I have a few ideas of things I'd like to do and achieve by the end of the year - both personal and for the blog! I shared my resolutions on The Power of 4 yesterday, but I wanted to share my goals over here! I like to think some (or most) of these are doable by the end of the year so let's see what I can do!

Personal Goals

Lose some weight/tone up
Learn to take better pictures
Drive somewhere new
Go to the cinema at least 5 times
Carry on with the job search/get a new job
Save up for holidays/outings
Organise my room better
Get into a better sleeping routine
Be more of an 'adult'
Try and follow my resolutions!

Collection Divine Waterproof Mascara | Review

One of my Christmas presents from my Dad was this Collection Divine Waterproof Mascara! I finally got round to trying it out yesterday and needed to review it. You can pick this up from Superdrug for £4.99 - it is currently £2.99 though as it's on offer!

I love this.

It has a nice spoolie that is thin and a straight line - which I usually hate - but on this it works. It's got little spokes on it that give a nice even coverage as well as not clumping! I had it on all day and it only fell off a little bit, but never smudges and the UK downpour didn't make it budge at all!

It's also in a nice shaped tube, which is easy to hold and not fiddly which is an added bonus! I'm definitely going to be adding this to my daily makeup essentials.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!

I am currently asleep, but that is the wonder of scheduling a blog post!! Thank you technology ;)

Today is the start of a New Year. A whole new 365 days are ahead of us. Will you change something in your life for the better? Have you made any resolutions? Are you currently out getting drunk? Or are you asleep like me?!!

Today my family will be round as usual, so I'm in charge of dinner for them all, which means I'm taking most of the day off and away from the internet. I love this day every year.

Hope you either enjoyed celebrating tonight, or have fun in the morning with family and friends, but either way - hope you are all safe and well :)
