Monthly Favourites #11 - February

It's that time of the month where I look back and share some of my fave things with you! Ranging from songs, TV and movies, to whatever lies in the random section!

Song

I wanted to hate this song but it grew on me so much, and after hearing it non stop at work for the last few weeks, I now like it. Anyway, Adele is amazing and so is this song!

My favourite picture from this month has to be of me and my sister Ash! She came back from Uni for a week and she had been indoors for all of an hour when I forced her to sit down so I could do her hair as I've missed doing this with her so much! She of course stole my device and began taking pictures...

TV Show

I have been waiting so long for this show to come back on after an amazing first season, and so far season two has not disappointed! The finale is tomorrow night, and I cannot wait to see what happens and hope that darn Whitney Frost get's her ass kicked by Peggy!! And can Peggy and Souza please get together at last?? #Deggy

Movie

Having had Ash back from Uni, we wanted something funny to watch that we hadn't seen for a while and this was the perfect choice! We were laughing and quoting it the whole way through! How is this over 10 years old already?

Random Section

So for the random section, I've gone with this image of a little creme egg trio! Me, Dad and the sister all sat down to watch the new series of Ant & Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway, and had to have chocolate! It seems we do this whenever we all have the same food item... We do this with lolliopos as well!

MAC Instigator Lipstick

If you've been a follower of this blog for a while now, you'll know I'm not a massive lipstick fan - or of any lip product for that matter...

HOWEVER, I need to draw your attention to this beauty right here! I won a MAC lippy of my choice from the lovely Country Pearls blog in a giveaway, and I chose Instigator. If you want to buy this for yourself, you can get it for £15.50 from MAC, or $24.60 off Amazon (for my lovely American readers!)

This is the first MAC product I've ever owned, so I was super excited about it!

Instigator is a dark purple with a slight red undertone to it, and is just such a lovely colour in my opinion! The reason I went with such a dark colour is that light shades such as pink, look awful on me - and I can't pull off a red lip to save my life! Yet I seem to look alright (if I do say so myself!) with a dark shade.

It is a really creamy formula and looks super nice and 'vampy' when it is on. It looks a lot better blended in, as opposed to just putting it on and blotting it. I'm still figuring out how to use this for an everyday look, but I'll be using it often as I really like this.

Makeup Revolution Pro Brush Cleanse Tool

I've not bought anything from Makeup Revolution for some time now, but one thing I asked for back at Christmas was this little Pro Brush Cleanse Tool. It comes in purple and in a little plastic box with gold lettering and information on it. You can pick this up for £4.99 of their website!

It is quite small, and the little gap is only big enough for two finger to balance it on. Three quarters of the plastic/rubber tool is made up of large grooves, and the last quarter is made up of little rubber dots.

The larger grooves are for larger brushes, such as powder and foundation brushes - whereas the small dotted section is for smaller brushes like eye shadow tools.

I found it to be quite fiddly and tricky to use with the one hand holding brushes and this very precariously balanced on two fingers! It did a good job of cleaning the brushes and the raised dotted area work wonders on my concealer brush - but it was just fiddly for my liking. It took me twice as long as my usual method of a towel/hand washing, plus it didn't work too well on my larger face brushes as the surface area is a bit too small for them to be washed effectively.

I'm still going to use it for my smaller brushes, but will have to stick to my usual method for the bigger ones! Have you tried this yourself and if so, what did you think? Let me know! Hope you have a great day and keep safe :)

BH Cosmetics Haul

I'm in love with BH Cosmetics right now, and even though they are based in America and shipping can be high sometimes (it isn't the case here!), I can't stop buying things! Here's a little haul of goodies I purchased back at the start of the year!

This was part of the 'Winter Steal Deal' > You got a 9 shadow palette of your choice, a blending brush and an animal print cosmetic bag all for $9. You can't get the deal any more, but you can still buy them all separate!

It comes in a compact with a mirror and small white sponge!

Liquid Foundation: L3 Light Rose - $4.50

I love all these products and have been using them a couple of times during the week, along with some of my other day-to-day products! All of them are of such high quality and pigmentation, that you really do get what you paid for, plus some!

The only issue I had is that the foundation is slightly too dark for me, but I can get away with it just about - but that's what happens when you buy foundation online! NO7 Advent Calendar Reviews - Exfoliator

One of the Advent Calendars I got was the NO7 one from Boots. It was £38 and had 25 different samples of products from the NO7 range. Now I've tested them all, I'm going to do a review of them all!

Day 4 was the Beautiful Skin Radiance Exfoliator. It retails at £8.50 for 75ml. This particular product is aimed at Normal/Dry skin combinations, which is what my skin combination is.

I used a small amount of this in the shower on my face - avoiding the eye area - and then rinsed it off. The smell isn't great, but it's more bearable than the other products in the range so far. It is a very light product, so you may need to use a bit more than usual. It took sometime to get a good scrub all over my face, which was hard to tell as it doesn't spread to well.

I rinsed it off afterwards, and the results were okay. It hadn't done a good a job as my Nivea Scrub, which is my all time fave, but it's good for a quick pick-me-up. I'd maybe use this now and then if I wanted something less aggressive than the Nivea one. My skin was softer, but still had an odd feel to it, which isn't something I was hoping for. Overall, not something I'm going to rush out and buy, but I will use the rest of the tube!
