Monthly Favourites #30 - October

Well October has passed in such a blur, that I didn't even realise I'd not wrote this post up until the weekend! I've spent most of this month trying to get back into a work/social life routine, and I'm failing at the latter... So November is going to be working on that! And now, onto the faves!

Song
I've been addicted to this song since about the first week of the month. I've been rewatching RuPaul's Drag Race, so decided to get Ru's new album and found this DIAMOND of a tune. I'm so obsessed, I've been vogueing around my bedroom to it while getting ready for work!

Picture
My favourite picture from this month is of the flowers from my Mum's wedding on the 24th. My sister and I, were her bridesmaids, so we had a bouquet each. They were gorgeous and the whole day was so beautiful!

TV
I've never seen this show until the past month! The boyfriend is a big fan, so he's had me watching the new season - plus a few older ones - which I've been in hysterics over. I can't believe some of the jokes that have actually made it onto the TV!

Hope you enjoyed these faves for October! What have you loved this month yourself, from each category? Let me know! Hope you have a great day and keep safe!

Walmart Beauty Haul!

While in Florida, I had a little shop around Sephora and Walmart's beauty sections. I recently showed you what I bought from Sephora, so now it's time for the Walmart's haul!

I ended up spending just under $100 on all of these goodies, which I honestly don't think is too bad for all of this.

I had abandoned my Dad and sister in the food aisles, and had practically ran off to the makeup before they knew I was even gone. As we were only in the store for a 'quick food run', I had to be quick with my choosing, as I know my Dad hates waiting around for me to pick between products!

I hadn't realised how many brands that Walmart stocked, so I ended up with a pick and mix of anything I could get my hands on.

I located the ELF section, and picked up the Under Eye Concealer & Highlighter in Fair, Volumizing Mascara, Shine Eraser and, the Flawless Eyeshadow palette in Party Purple. Then from Wet n Wild, I picked up this Mega Cushion Color Corrector in Peach, and this glittery silver Mono Eyeshadow in Spiked. From the gag worthy nails section, I found my fave false nails brand - Impress - and purchased these nautical themed nails! From a brand I've never heard of, called Almay, I chose this Brow Pencil in Dark Blonde - which hopefully won't be too dark on me when I try it out!

Also from Wet n Wild, I found this Khol Eyeliner in Baby's Got Black, which I mainly got because the name of it made me laugh! From the same brand, I found a lovely mascara called Fanatic Black Cat - which promises 8x more volume, so fingers crossed! Next I located Covergirl's section - which I've loved ever since Ellen started promoting them! I ended up with Advanced Radiance Foundation 105 Ivory, 105-110 Fresh Complexion Powder, and 220 Urban Basics Eyeshadow palette. Up next, is a new brand I've also not heard of before, called Hard Candy. I love that brand name. From them, I purchased a 12 Hour Mattifying Setting Spray with oil control.

Another Covergirl product, is this 810 Fair concealer - which looks like it has a super soft applicator on the tip of the tube! Back to Hard Candy, I picked up two soft glide eyeliner pencils in two lovely shades - 1277 Chrome and 1267 Creamy Matte. The final product I picked up was Hard Candy's Look Pro Neautral Eyes palette. It's such a pretty palette, and take a sneek peek at the inside of it below!

I've linked the products to anywhere I could find them online for you, so hopefully this helps if you want to check any of them out in more detail. I will be doing reviews on all of these over the next few months, so keep your eyes peeled for that! Which parts of the haul do you like the most? Let me know! Hope you have a great day and keep safe :)

Like any of the goodies I've picked out for myself? And what's on your wishlist? Let me know! Hope you have a great day and keep safe :)

30 Before 30 | Bucket List

Back in September, I turned 25 years old. Cue my mini heart attack about becoming a member of the overs category on the X Factor...

But, that means I have 5 years until I hit the next big birthday milestone of 30! I'm honestly still trying to figure my life out, so what better way to help myself get some ideas, than to create a little ole bucket list?

I'm not sure how many of these will ever happen, but it's nice to have the ideas! So, here we have my '30 before 30' bucket list!

  1. Stop eating so much pizza
  2. Move out
  3. Change jobs

  15. Meet some famous people!
  16. Learn how to make a really good roast dinner
  17. Explore more of America - not just Florida
  18. Learn a language - currently learning so Japanese and French
  19. Visit Japan
  20. Do a Marvel-verse movie marathon!
  21. Read all of the Hobbit/Lord Of The Rings books
  22. Start my own business
  23. Become an Auntie!
  24. Go see a great Drag Queen show

Orlando Holiday Diary: Day 1 - Travelling

September 4th was a day I had been waiting for, for quite literally years. 1206 days prior to that date, I'd had the idea in my head that I wanted to go to Orlando, Florida, for my 25th birthday. Roll forwards that countdown, and I was all packed and at the airport ready!

I spent a while planning, saving, booking, and getting super excited about this holiday! So along with a daily vlog for each of the days we were on our little vacay, I've decided to share some pictures of the holiday with you all on my little blog. If pictures are not your 'can of  coke*', then scroll down and enjoy the vlog from day one!

*Can of coke = cup of tea!

Hope you enjoyed this little look at the first day of my awesome holiday! Can't wait to share with you the rest of the trip. If you've been to Florida, or want to go, what's something you'd like to do there? Let me know! Hope you have a great day and keep safe :)

Mini Sephora Haul!

BOOM - Beauty post!

Yes, I know I said I was going to do more beauty posts after April... And I think we can all agree I didn't do so great there! However, now I'm back from the lovely land of America, I'm going to have a few beauty posts for you over the next couple of months. Finally.

While in Florida, I had a little shop around Sephora and Walmart's beauty sections. I'll be doing a haul of the latter at some point this month, but for now, we have Sephora! It's only three little items, so don't get too excited!

On our last day - also the day we flew home - we popped by Disney Springs for a last look around, and I knew Sephora was in the area, so I marched my Dad and sister into the store. They were just happy to be in the air conditioned shop, so they didn't mind me browsing.

Due to the fact it was the last day and I'd already packed my stuff up - and my suitcases were only just under the weight limit, I had to be choosy.

So I picked up four things in total - these three lovely bits, plus a Sephora eye shadow palette for my Mum - and it came to just over $100. I'll be reviewing each of the individually in later blog posts!

I'm a sucker for the NAKED palettes from Urban Decay, so this Basics palette is perfect for me. It's got a range of lovely neutral shades, which is my go to for everyday. This was $29, which I was happy to pay. Plus, it wasn't heavy enough to make my weight limit get higher!

Also, from Urban Decay, is this mini version of the All Nighter setting spray for $15! The larger one is $32 and super chunky, so I voted for the mini version. It's 30ml, which will last me a while as I don't always use setting sprays each day, and this mini version is perfect for hand luggage on planes!

The third, and final goodie I selected, was the mini Color Switch by Vera Mona. I've seen this, and similar items all over the internet this summer. I've been wanting to get one for months, so I took the plunge and picked this up for myself. For only $18, it's a perfect size for handbags, and won't take up too much space in my makeup storage at home.

If you've ever been to Sephora, what other things should I have checked out in my mad dash? And what are your fave finds from the store? Let me know! Hope you have a great day and keep safe :)

2017 Goals Check In #2!

Back at the start of the year, I shared with you my 2017 Goals for the year ahead. Seeing as we've rolled into October already (where has this year gone!?!) I thought I'd do a mini check in to see how I'm going so far with a few of the goals. If you want to see all of the goals, check out the original blog post, or see the mini check in I done back in April.

Personal Goals
  • Read 4 books I managed to get halfway into one book so far... Does that count??
  • Drive somewhere new - Haven't made any progress with this since April
  • Go to the cinema 15 times - Not too bad here, managed 6 trips so far
  • Start & uphold, the 52 Week Saving Challenge - I've done really well here! Week 42 and I'm still going!
  • Organise my room better - Totally done this!
  • Start and finish writing a book - Sort of. I wrote an outline, three chapters and then some notes for the next few plots.
  • Go out more often - Have got a little better with this! Done a three night outing streak in May, and lots of other little fun trips!

Blog Goals
  • 1200 Bloglovin followers - At 1065, so possible to do still!
  • 5500 Twitter followers - At 4390...
  • 1250 Instagram followers - Sitting on 1080, which is over 100 less than back in April
  • 400 YouTube subscribers ✔
  • 350 Facebook page likes ✔
  • 200,000 blog page views ✔
  • Post 3 times each week ✔

Overall, not too bad so far! I really need to get a move on with the personal goals, as those are the ones I actually want to achieve by the end of the year, but I'm finding them a little tricky still. Quite happy with how my blog goals are going so far, and the fact I've achieved a handful of them already so close to the end of the year.

How are you doing with all of your goals or resolutions for the year so far? Let me know! Hope you have a great day and keep safe :)

Rapunzel | Disney Inspired Lookbook

At the start of the year, I decided to do a set of Disney Inspired Lookbooks - all inspired by the Princesses - in the run up to my Florida holiday. Well now that the holiday is all over, I still have a few of the Princesses left to style, so I'm carrying on until the end of the year! Last time I created a new Tiana look, and now it's time for this week's new Princess!

And then all you need to do is braid your hair like Punzie, and you're good to go! I am obsessed with the corset belt from this look!! What part of the look is your favourite, and who is your fave Disney Princess? Let me know! Hope you have a great day and keep safe :)
