5 Reasons Why I Love Being A Blogger

I've had this little slice of internet for almost 5 years now, and I can honestly say that becoming a blogger, was the best thing I've ever done. It started as an accidental hobby, and has flourished into something I'm really passionate about. Plus, I enjoy nothing more than sitting curled in bed and typing up all these posts!

I've had some pretty good moments since starting this blog, and also some lows. However, today I wanted to share with you some of the reasons I love doing this so much.

Community
I've met many people over the last 4-5 years. I've had a few people who were very helpful at the start who helped me with some simple blog tips and layout tips for me. I've yet to do a blogger meet up or event, as I am chronically shy with that sort of thing - but I hope to get to one some day in the future. There are some really lovely bloggers online, and you'll find a load of them on Twitter, promoting their blogs, just like me!

Photography
Granted, my picture taking skills haven't got a lot better over the years, but I've got a lot better with flat lay images, and very basic photoshop skills. It took me 2 years of blogging to even edit a picture. These days, they're a lot brighter and 90% of the time, they're a clean image and not blurred! I've got a lot better at framing subjects as well.

Networking
I didn't know that blogging was something that companies even knew about back when I started in 2013. Since then, I've worked with a small handful of companies, and have been very kindly gifted some items to review. I've also got an on-going relationship with a publisher company which is something I never thought this could lead to.

Social Media Know-How
Back in 2013, I'd had Twitter for 4 years, and a Facebook for 5 years. Instagram wasn't a big thing back then, so I was still learning how to use them to my advantage. Since then, I've got the hang of Twitter and Pinterest - but Instagram was one of them until that stupid update. What was the days of 100+ likes an image has sunk to a sad 30+ if I'm lucky. All my other social media has thrived as I've learned how to use it to my advantage!

Writing Skills
As someone who loves writing, I was still getting used to writing long ass blog posts for 5 times a week, but have settled on a happy 3 day week now. I've become faster at typing, and my spelling has somewhat improved a bit over time. I still make typos, like a lot of us do, but this has helped me whack out a few posts per day, so they're ready to be scheduled.

If you're a blogger, what are your reasons? And are they similar to mine? Let me know! Hope you have a great day and keep safe :)

  3. We agree with all these points Tania! We have met so many great people - like yourself - through blogging. Even on the days when it can get frustrating, we stop and think about all the amazing things having a blog has given us and smile and get on with it. It's our little corner of the internet and we love improving our own skills. Plus it's fun to be proud of the things we write and have the memories from each post!

It would be awesome to meet you at a blogging event one day. We haven't been to any over here and get quite anxious and nervous too!

    1. It's connected me to a whole lot of people, and I found you both through it! I sometimes like to have days away from it, but then others where I'll be doing it for days. I'd love to be able to go to a blogger event one day, so hopefully I can, so I can meet you both :) xx

  4. Lovely post, and I agree with most of these! I love the community, even if there does seem to be far too much drama in the blogger community recently, and all the skills I've learnt from blogging, like networking, social media skills and photography skills. x www.aimeeraindropwrites.co.uk x

    1. There is always drama, but I've only heard about it - rather than experienced it!! It's helped refine some skills, and helped me learn others :) xx
