Some Of The Best Windows Apps To Download*

https://www.pexels.com/photo/person-holding-space-gray-iphone-x-1440722/

As most people probably know, traditionally Windows does not boast a range of apps that would have rivalled other stores. Nevertheless, with the new Windows versions, there are finally some killer apps to be found. Gone are the days when the Windows Store was paling in comparison to the iTunes App Store!

So, now let’s get to the fun part; what are the top killer apps for Windows?

5) Quick Note

Putting together shopping lists and taking notes for exams has never been easier! ‘Quick Note’ may not be the most glamorous and exciting app one will come across but it is certainly something which will get a lot of usage out of it. This basic app does exactly what its name indicates, and it will certainly come in useful for anybody. You can use it for a whole host of things, such as tracking your profit and loss from VIP casinos, putting together a cleaning schedule, and much more!

4) Cut the Rope

This app is perfect for any individual who is looking for a game which will provide them with endless hours of addictive fun. So how does ‘Cut the Rope’ actually work? Basically, there is a hungry frog at the bottom of the screen who wants some candy. However, the candy the frog desires is attached to a rope or several ropes. The person playing the game has to cut the ropes in such a manner that the candy lands in the frog’s mouth. Obviously, this becomes a lot harder as the individual progresses to the next level.

3) Slacker Radio

There are only two words which need to be said in order to win people over with this app: free music! Basically, ‘Slacker Radio’ is an app which boasts a whole host of radio stations which are just waiting to be listened to.

2) YouCam

‘YouCam’ is the ultimate photo and video editing app. In order to utilize this application, a webcam and a microphone are required (these are usually inbuilt in all computers nowadays anyway). With ‘YouCam’ individuals can shoot videos and take pictures and then edit them with a whole host of features, such as; lighting effects and noise reduction. Once the video or image is edited to suit the individual in question it can then be uploaded to a whole host of mediums such as YouTube and Facebook. Who knows, ‘YouCam’ could pave the way for the next YouTube sensation!

1) Fitball

It may not be as useful as ‘Quick Note’, but quite frankly; who cares? So what exactly is ‘Fitball’? Basically, it is an app which relates to health and fitness (as if the name of it didn’t give that away). What it involves is the person in question hitting balls (not too hard, nobody wants a cracked screen!) that appear on your screen. Why’s this so great? Well, you can see your reflection in the computer screen which will show which parts of your body are getting hotter. Keeping fit has never been such fun!

Keep Yourself Occupied While You're Isolating*

Image from Pexels - CC0 License

Have you been told that you need to isolate? Maybe you're waiting for the results of a test for COVID-19 or someone in your household has tested positive, so now you're stuck at home for a while. Or perhaps you've been sheltering at home as much as possible to shield your health. If you have to isolate or you're just preparing for a future time when you might have to, the fear of getting bored is definitely something that you might be facing. Catching up on your Netflix list might be a good start, but what do you do once you've run out of things to watch? Try these ideas to stay occupied.

Play Some Games

If you don't have all of your real-life obligations to occupy you, playing some fun games is a great way to entertain yourself and relax. It's something you might deny yourself usually because it feels like you should be doing other things. But now you have plenty of time to have some fun, there are all kinds of games you can play. Whether you check out the free spins no deposit 2021 casino games to try and win some money or get yourself a brand new PlayStation5, you can find games that you enjoy. Maybe there's a game you used to love that you want to pick up again.

Start a New Hobby

Having to isolate could be the perfect opportunity to begin a new hobby. And once you're free to move around again, you can keep it going and do it in your spare time. Maybe you have some supplies for a hobby you wanted to start but never got around to doing. Or you could order some things to your home if you need any materials or equipment to get started. On the other hand, maybe there's a hobby you can pick up right away, like writing.

Stay in Touch with Others

Being stuck at home can feel lonely, especially if you're having to isolate on your own. Fortunately, modern technology makes it easier to keep in touch with friends and family, and even to make some new friends during your time in isolation. You can stay in touch with people you know through social media, phone calls, video calls, text messaging, and more. And if you're looking to connect with new people, there are plenty of ways to do that too, from forums to Facebook groups.

Do Things Around the House

It might not be the most exciting thing, but not being able to go out means you don't have much excuse for not getting things done at home. All of those jobs you've been putting off, from fixing that scratch in the radiator paint to replacing that weird light bulb that you're not quite sure how to remove, could be tackled while you're at home. It's a good idea to make your home look and feel better if you're going to be seeing more of it.

Being stuck at home might not be fun, but there are things you can do to occupy yourself and stay entertained.

Christmas Bucket List

It's coming up to Christmas quite quickly now, and aside from working my lil butt off at the supermarket deli counter - where I live 99% of my life - I wanted to try and do other things when I was free of my shifts. I've had a few ideas, and found more online, plus have seen a few events about the place that I'd like to go to. Here is a bucket list of things I'd like to do, as well as other that I hope you would like too!

This year is a little different for everyone, due the ongoing pandemic, but I hope that these are things I can do in the new few days before the big day itself!

  1. Send out Christmas cards
  2. Decorate house/bedroom
  3. Make festive cookies
  4. Make a Christmas song playlist
  5. Watch Love Actually, or any other Christmas movie!
  6. Make a festive craft, like paper snowflakes
  7. Wander around an area with lots of Christmas lights on houses
  8. Decorate a gingerbread house
  9. Donate to charities
  10. Snuggle up in bed with a Christmas book

What will you be getting up to over the next week, leading up to the big day? Let me know! Hope you have a great day and keep safe :)

December Wishlist

With Christmas coming in a few days time, I'm not really after anything in particular this month, as I know I have a few goodies coming! That said, here are some little bits and pieces that I've had my eye on the past few weeks - maybe as a late present to myself, or a 2021 treat come January's payday!

What things would you like at the last minute as a Christmas present? Let me know! Hope you have a great day and keep safe :)

How to Create a Website That Wows Your Customers*

Image Pexels CC0 License

Creating a strong website for your business is a must to make it a success. Your website helps to increase the visibility of your company, gives it credibility, and also helps you to stand out from competing businesses. Think about your first port of call when you are looking for a new product or service, and the chances are that you will search for it online. Many people carry out product research online, and purchase decisions are often influenced by their experience using the company’s website.

While having a business website is standard, this doesn’t mean that all websites are effective. If you have ever stumbled upon a poorly designed website that looks like it was last updated 20 years ago, you will understand only too well that not all websites are created equal. This is good news because it provides you with the opportunity to create a website that will wow your customers and make them want to keep buying from you over and over again. But, the real question is, how do you create a website that wows your customers? Read on to find out:

Make a Positive First Impression

When you click through to a website, you make an instant judgement about it. This first impression can influence whether or not you want to click through further to find out more or whether you hit the back button straight away and give your custom to a competing business instead.

The saying ‘first impressions count’ may be overused, but it is fair to say that for business websites, first impressions do make a significant difference. Your website design needs to appeal to your target audience while also staying true to your branding. If the website is not visually appealing, then the chances of visitors staying on your site to find out more about your business and the products that you offer are reduced.

When creating your website, you need it to have a vibe that is consistent with your branding and mirrors th personality of your brand. A prominent logo and sticking with a colour scheme are excellent ways to make your website visually appealing. Don’t forget to use great quality photography throughout to show your products at their best.

Focus on User Experience

One of the single biggest factors that encourage visitors to your website to become customers is the user experience of your site, also known as UX. As its name suggests, user experience refers to the way that visitors engage with a website and the experience they receive when using it. If a potential customer cannot easily find what they are looking for on your site then the chances are they will simply give up and look elsewhere. So ensuring that your website is intuitive and easy to use is imperative.

Understanding how website visitors interact with your site and how they navigate it is vital. If you want to improve your website and increase your conversion rate, then user experience should be a top priority. The only way to get definitive information on how website visitors interact with your site is through Usability testing. Testing will provide you with valuable information and insights that will help you to make meaningful improvements to your website and convert website visitors into customers. UX testing can help to identify frustrations that visitors experience on your website that you may not have been aware of previously. Armed with all of this information, you will then be equipped with the insights needed to fix these issues and improve the visitor experience as a result.

If your website is easy to use and provides a positive experience, your customers are likely to keep coming back for more. Therefore, testing user experience and making website improvements based on the insights gained can benefit your business in both the short and long term.

Create Content That Adds Value

Introducing a blog section to your website is a fantastic way of extending your reach and attracting more visitors. Having a blog as part of your website helps to provide your customers with useful information and inspiration that allows them to engage more fully with your brand.

A blog helps to add extra personality to your brand by giving it a voice. Adding a blog section and updating it regularly can help to introduce a whole new audience to your products. Introducing a blog section is also an excellent way to help your business to stand out from your competitors. Why not give it a try and see if it works for you?

Become a Stat Geek

As well as understanding how visitors interact with your site through UX testing, it is useful to continue to monitor the way that visitors use your site. Becoming a stat geek and fully understanding the number of visits and page views that your site receives is an excellent way to continually monitor your website’s success.

Keeping track of which pages are receiving the most visits and which pages visitors spend the most time looking at will help you to understand which content appeals the most to your customers. Understanding which content is most attractive to your customers is an excellent way to ensure that you keep providing more of it and keep your customers coming back to your site.

Keeping up the Good Work

Once you have created a website that wows your customers, you need to keep up the good work and continue to build on your success. Updating your website regularly with fresh new content is an excellent way to keep your website visitors interested. Don’t forget to include a subscribe prompt on your website so that you can email customers with the latest news from your website so that you stay at the forefront of their minds.

Your website plays such an vital role in the continued success of your business, so you must continue to use it as a vehicle to drive your business forward and to attract new customers along the way.

Ensuring You Don't Waste Money Online This Christmas*

We all know about the risks of gambling, and so the question is whether you can make any money without spending any, to begin with? Due to the pandemic, a lot of people do not have any money to spare. However, there are ways that you can enjoy this for free.

Nowadays, there is a whole host of betting companies for people to choose from online. The following is a mere handful of options – Sky Bet, Paddy Power, Ladbrokes, Betfair Sports, Bet365 Sport, William Hill Sports, Titan Bet, 888Sport, and BetFred. These businesses recognise that they need to stand out from the crowd if they are to entice you to use their services, and the main way they do this is through betting promotions. A lot of betting companies offer free bets for new customers, and thus by finding the best ones you really can make your money go further. In fact, you could find yourself making a tidy sum without needing to spend any cash at all. If this is something you are interested in, read on to discover more about some of the best promotions that are available at present.

So, let’s talk you through some of the different types of betting promotions and free bets so that you can get a good idea of the various options that are available to you. The ‘matched deposit’ is one of the most popular promotions. It is pretty easy to understand; the company in question will agree to match your first deposit up to a certain amount. Therefore, if you deposit £30, the company will give you a free £30, and thus you will have £60 in your account to bet with. This amount will be capped, as is the case with most promotions, and, therefore, if you deposit £1,000 you won’t receive £1,000 back, you will receive the capped amount, £200 for example. There are those companies that also offer to double or even triple your initial stake, such as Betfred. They offer a deal whereby they will triple your initial stake. This means that if you put down £20, they will then give you an extra £60 to play with. That is a massive 300 per cent!

There are some betting companies that offer free bets, plain and simple, for all new customers. All you need to do is sign up with the company and they will award you with a free bet of a certain amount. Some betting companies will require you to make an initial deposit, others will not. William Hill is one of the better companies for this. They give new customers two free bets amounting to £10 each as a Welcome Bonus. There are other betting businesses that offer you a risk-free bet, which means that they will refund your first bet if you lose. Let’s say you placed £10 on Chelsea to beat Everton, and this bet didn’t come in, they would then give you £10 in a free bet token so that you can place it on something else. You are getting a second choice at making some money.

Aside from the betting promotions that have already been mentioned, there are companies that offer enhanced odds for new customers. There are various different approaches to this. BetFred, for example, will double your odds on your first bet. Thus, no matter what selection you choose, you can expect your returns to be doubled if your bet comes through. There are other companies that offer enhanced odds for a particular selection. For example, they may pick the favourite in a horse race and give you the opportunity to capitalise on a price of 7/1 if you sign up with the company. You would never get such good odds for a clear favourite, yet one-off deals like this mean that you can.

You can also get an exclusive casino bonus, if you want to play some games online but you don’t want to spend a lot. We would recommend putting a deposit limit in play so that you cannot add more money to your account even if you wanted to. Steps like this ensure you don’t overspend.

To conclude, hopefully, you now have a better understanding of the best free bets that are available for people to take advantage of nowadays. There are many exciting promotions for you to capitalise on, and it is important to be aware of these before you sign up with a betting company.

Skincare Saviours: Simple Hacks For Healthier, Happier Skin This Winter*

There’s no getting away from the fact that the winter weather brings with it a lot of lovely things; from Starbucks’ famous pumpkin spiced lattes, ice skating, and the festive season, but it also brings with it freezing winds and decreases in humidity that lead to your skin barrier’s beginning to break down.

That’s why, during the colder winter months, it’s important that you take the time to improve and enhance your skincare routine, ensuring that your skin is protected despite the colder weather. By creating a winter skincare routine for your skin, you can make sure that regardless of the change in temperature, your skin doesn’t suffer as a result.

Wondering what steps you can take to look after your skin during the colder winter weather? Looking after your skin during the colder months is actually far easier than you might think, it’s just a case of knowing what steps you need to take. With that in mind, below are a few tips and suggestions to help you take better care of your skin during the colder winter months

Take care of your hands

It’s easy to forget about your hands when it comes to skincare, but it’s important to remember that during the colder weather your hands can also become sore and dry as a result of the colder temperatures and the loss of humidity. The cold weather - especially high winds and heavy rain or snow - can leave your hands feeling chapped and sore, that’s why taking proper care of your hands is so important.

If you want to look after your hands, it’s a good idea to think about applying a rich hand cream, and if possible, covering your hands with gloves during colder weather. It’s also important to make sure that you have high-quality, rich in moisture soaps on hand at home, so that your hands aren’t being dried out from other sources, besides the colder weather.

Don’t forget to take care of your cuticles too; if you fail to look after your cuticles they may split or dry out, causing pain. That’s why it’s so important that you also take care of your cuticle skin, using a cuticle oil on a daily basis - this is especially important during the colder winter months.

Protect your lips

The skin on your lips is even more sensitive than the skin on the rest of your body, which is why often, the skin on your lips becomes sore, chapped and dry more easily and more quickly than the skin on the rest of your body. That’s why it’s so important to take the time to look after your lips, ensuring that you aren’t left with dry, chapped, sore lips.

To keep your lips healthy, soft and nourished, it’s important to make sure that you’re using lip balm regularly. When it comes to lip balm, it’s important to remember that not all lip balms are made equal and don’t work in the same way.

For instance, lip balms that contain certain ingredients, such as salicylic acid or cinnamic aldehyde and lip balms that are petroleum based, can cause your lips to dry out more. They offer hydration initially but then cause further dryness, requiring constant use of the balm to keep your lips hydrated. Whereas, lip balms that contain beeswax or soy wax are less likely to cause dryness and actually hydrate the skin without taking any moisture away.

Some of the best lip balm brands include the likes of Burt’s Bees, for instance. The Burt’s Bees products are ideal as they’re all natural and have a beeswax base, which means that these products won’t cause further skin drying.

Avoid harsh soaps

You might love that feeling of being squeaky clean but a lot of soaps are packed full of harmful ingredients that can wreak havoc on your skin health - particularly during the colder winter months. That’s why it’s important to try and steer clear of harsh soaps that are actually causing more damage to your skin than doing good. These kinds of soaps can strip your skin of its natural oils, causing dryness and irritation to occur.

Instead of using harsh soaps, such as cheap supermarket or drug store brands, consider opting for a soap that is made from natural ingredients. The soaps available from stores like Lush and local independent soap makers are a much better option as usually these soaps are made using natural ingredients and are free from harsh or skin damaging chemicals.

Pack your diet full of nutrients

When it comes to having health skin, eating a diet that’s packed full of the right nutrients is important. The fact is that throughout the year, it’s important that you’re eating the right foods, but in winter, when your skin is most at risk, it’s even more important to pack your diet full of skin-boosting foods.

You want to make sure that you’re eating lots of foods rich in antioxidants to help boost overall skin health. These foods include carrots, apricots, spinach, tomatoes, berries, beans, lentils, peas, fatty fish, nuts, and seeds.

It’s also important to think about supplements and what you’re using to aid your skin further. For instance, you can buy skin boosting vitamins - these have become increasingly popular in recent years, with more and more people choosing to take vitamins to help boost their skin health.

Another way to improve skin health is to buy CBD Oil and add it to your diet. CBD oil can help to aid skin health in a number of ways, however it’s most commonly used to reduce sensitive skin and to help manage acne.

Layer up your skincare

When it comes to enhancing your skin health during the colder winter months, it’s important that you layer it up. Layering might sound strange but hear us out on this - you wouldn’t go outside in the cold weather in just a t-shirt, would you? Your skin won’t function well if it just goes out in a “t-shirt”, which is where layering comes into it.

What exactly do we mean by layering up your skincare? Well, it’s simple really, it’s just a case of getting your skincare routine right and implementing the right steps. Ideally, you want to start off using a gentle cleansing product, then you should apply a thin layer of a hydrating facial serum, followed by a rich moisturiser - ideally you want to pick an oil-free moisturiser. The last step should always be to apply SPF protection - even when the weather isn’t hot the sun can still cause damage to your skin.

Combine creams and balms

When it comes to your skincare, there’s no need to simply stick to one product type - it’s perfectly fine to combine different types of hydrating products. For instance, having a selection of different moisturising products, from lotions to balms, can help to make sure that whatever nourishment your skin needs, you’re able to offer it. The thicker the balm, the more protection it will offer your skin from the elements.

Aim to only use products that are made from natural ingredients and are free from chemicals or unnecessary additives. When it comes to choosing a moisturising product, look for products that have a base of beeswax, soy wax, shea butter, cocoa butter, mango butter, coconut butter, or any other natural wax or butter base.

In terms of what product to use when, consider how quickly you need the product to soak in. For example, most cream products soak in fairly quickly and don’t tend to leave an overly greasy residue. Whereas, a balm will take a lot longer to soak into the skin and may leave a greasy residue, due to its high moisture content.

Create a on-the-go pack

To ensure that you’re able to take proper care of your skin, wherever you are, it’s worth thinking about creating an on-the-go skincare kit that’s packed full of all of your skincare essentials and can easily be taken with you wherever you go. This pack could include a hand cream - or a solid hand lotion bar, a lip balm, some gloves, and a multipurpose skin balm.

Pick a zip-up bag that’s small enough to fit in your main bag but large enough to fit in all of the essentials, and fill it up with your skincare must haves for the colder winter months. Whenever you go anywhere, add your on-the-go pack to your bag, so that wherever you go, you always have everything that your skin needs to stay healthy and happy.

When it comes to taking care of your skin in the colder winter months, there’s a lot more to think about than in the warmer months. As the weather gets colder, your skin requires more care, and getting the approach right is crucial, if you want to keep your skin healthy and happy despite the colder weather. Hopefully, the guide - and tips - above will help you to take better care of your skin this winter, and as a result, have healthier and happier skin, despite the colder weather.

Shapewear For Anyone!*

Hey everyone, hope you are all keeping safe and well during the current time in the world! Here we are with another little post for you all - this time it's all about shapewear!

First off, what is shape wear? I found a load of different ways and explanations to try and explain this online, so I'll try and summarise this for you if you've no idea what it is! Shape wear is a clothing item - mainly a kind of undergarment, designed to slightly alter the person's body shape and dimensions, to achieve what some view as a more 'fashionable and svelte figure'. The function of a shape wear is not to necessarily enhance or change a bodily feature, but to make it look more 'clean lined' and to boost the wearer's confidence.

Shapellx

The right shape wear can really help with certain outfits, and can really boost your confidence! I've worn a few in my younger and teenage days, and even now I have a couple stashed away for nice dresses when I go out. With the right fit and type of shape wear, such as the products you can find the Best Shapewear at Shapellx Black Friday sales on their website - here you can get that silhouette that you want or need for that particular outfit you want to look and feel great in!

I love shape wear as I'm more of a curvy and heavy-set girl, so they help streamline my looks, and make me feel more confident when I'm out and about. They even have plus size shapewear, which is additional bonus for me. It can help smooth any lumps and bumps that I'm self conscious about, and means I can focus on enjoying my time out, and not feeling awkward wearing my outfits. It also means that it won't be so tight that I can't breath, as it is tailored for bigger people, such as myself.

Something that would be super for me is the various waist and thigh trainer that they offer on their website. As this is my one of my 'problem' areas, these would be great for me, and what I would want them to do. There is a wide variety of designs and colours, so you can find the perfect style for you to 'attack' the area that you wish to shape into that svelte figure!

Or if you just want to try and get a more sculpted look for your tummy, you have the option of a waist trainer for women. These have been seen a lot since Kim Kardashian and other various celebrities started promoting them a few years ago, and I actually owned one for a while which worked wonders for me! Since lost it, so I think it's time I find a new one, and one of these could be it!

Do you wear shape wear at all, and if you do, how does it make you feel? And is there any particular outfit you will always wear something like shape wear with? Let me know! Hope you have a great day and keep safe :)

Giving Your Products Room To Shine On Your Site*

Whether you’re running a full-fledged e-commerce business with a lot of products to show off or you’re simply selling some additional goods as a bit of a side-hustle, then you should be interested in showing off the best side of your products. The more that you can get customers to pay attention to what you have to offer, the better their chances of converting and clicking that purchase button. So, how do you do it?

Source - CC0 License

Tell all about it

Perhaps the easiest kind of content to create for the net is written content. Whether you’re selling some products through your blog or you need to create one to go alongside your e-commerce site, there’s no denying that running a blog offers a great opportunity to publish authoritative content on any product you might sell. Aside from inside looks at how products work and what benefits they offer, you can also take a more indirect, but often more convincing route of addressing problems your consumers have or scenarios they might face that could be helped by your product, framing your product as the solution to the topic of the blog post. Either way, end with a call-to-action leading your readers to the product page and it could really help boost posts.

Show and tell

What’s even better than simply telling your consumers about the benefits of a product? Actually letting them see it for themselves. Find out more about product demo videos that you can publish, be it on your website, on YouTube, or on other social media platforms. Some products are better suited for demos than others, but most can benefit from the fact that consumers get to see what it looks like in the hands of a real person, to see how it works in real-time, and to assure them that the product exists and is built with quality. How much of a demonstration you provide depends on how technical the product is, but demo videos are a great way to at least show them off.

Get them involved

The internet is not a one-way medium. Interactive experiences tend to, in one way or another, outperform those that would have your audience play a more passive role. If you can get them involved, you can get your customers invested, as well. For instance, you can learn about video chat software that would allow you to provide demos for your product, but before a live audience. A lot of e-commerce businesses have started following this trend, allowing consumers to ask questions about the product that the demonstrator can then answer by taking a closer look at a part of the product or function when necessary. It helps you cut right through to the questions that are actually on your audiences’ minds.

There are a lot of different ways to give your products that platform that lets them shine. Which of them you rely on depends largely on which works best for your website and the product in question, but hopefully, the suggestions on some of the methods featured above help with that.
