Can you believe it’s nearly the end of 2024? This year has been a whirlwind of ups and downs, so I thought I’d take a little time to reflect on what’s happened and share a few thoughts for the year ahead.
2024
This July marked my second year in business, and it’s been a busy one! I’ve welcomed 6 new clients, plus another 4 in my associate VA role, so it’s been a full-on year of growth. While the hustle has definitely had its stressful days, I’m still loving every minute (or almost every minute!).
In September we had a few days out to visit Chessington as usual, and then me and Dad went to visit Hever Castle in Kent, as I've been obsessed (even more than usual) with all things Tudor related. I blame SIX the musical!!
On the health side, things have been…a little rough. It feels like I’ve had a new cold or infection almost every month, not to mention my foot injury flaring up again. I’ve barely worked out this year, which hasn’t done my fitness any favours. But I’m hoping to work on that in 2025. Family and friends have been a mixed bag: everyone is mostly well, though we faced the sad loss of my friend’s father. My sister and cousin both became single this year (big changes!), and my grandad Roy celebrated his 91st birthday!
I also became a redhead this year - finally took the plunge and went to a local hairdresser, and I've been a red/copper colour since July - and I bloody love it. I've spent a lot of weekends since August being a football auntie to my lil munchkin Finley - my bestie Jodie's son - and I've got a tad into it. My heartrate during his games is HIGH.
Looking Forward to 2025
2025 is looking to be interesting, especially with some huge world events - I’m still reeling from the fact that Trump was re-elected in November. Being here in the UK, I didn’t think it would hit me so hard, but it was such a gut punch. I had my hopes pinned on Kamala Harris, and I’ll admit, I shed a few tears when the results were announced. It’s tough not knowing how his policies might impact the global scene.
For my business, I’m planning some big changes! I hope to phase out my associate role since it’s a lower hourly rate, and instead, I’m aiming to fill those hours with my own clients. (So if you need an extra pair of hands, I’m here!) I’m also considering a marketing revamp and some website updates.
As for holidays, I don’t think Florida will be on the cards for 2025. We’re watching how things play out in the States, especially now that Pumpkin Spice Palpatine is in power, so it’s probably wiser to plan a closer-to-home holiday instead. And with a bit more income from my own clients, I’ll be working on padding my finances in 2025 so I can save for those future adventures.
Here’s to making 2025 the best it can be, come what may! I hope you’re all as excited (and maybe a little cautious) as I am. Let’s go into the new year ready for anything!
What has happened this year that you've loved, and what are you looking forward to in 2025? Let me know! Hope you have a great day and keep safe :)
