Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas! 🎄 Happy holidays, lovely readers! 

I just wanted to pop in with a festive greeting and send you all the warmest wishes for a very merry Christmas. Whether you’re diving into a full week of holiday gatherings or looking forward to some quiet time with a good book and a cup of something warm, I hope your days are filled with joy and laughter. 

This week, I’ll be winding down for a little family time and indulging in way too much chocolate! How about you? 5 Things I Love About Winter

Winter officially rolls in on December 21st, and I'm already feeling the change of seasons with the colder weather we've been having for the last week or so. I'm not a huge lover of the colder weather a lot of the time, but here are 5 things I love about this season.

Family & friend's time - I see my family more this time of year - especially over Christmas. I see my Mum a couple of times around the holidays, and I spend Christmas and Boxing Day with my Dad's family as usual. I also have a Christmas dinner out with my friend Nicola at some point during the month of December - it's our tradition and it's her night without the kids!

The weather - The weather is both the worst thing, but also something I like. I love it if it's snowy and frosty out... but only if I don't have to go out in it! Snow is rare in my area until the end of the season, and even then it is only a small flurry or two. 

Sales - Boxing Day and January sales are my favourite thing. I can get a load of essentials along with updating some items around this time for a lower cost. I do most of my shopping online around this time due to the weather, but the online sales are always great to browse just after Christmas.

Less work - I have the privilege of being self-employed and get to pick and choose when I work. I always take a whole week off for Christmas, along with miscellaneous days through the season. I have a day or two off at the start of the year, and then a week sometime around the end of the season. I do not miss working in retail during the winter season!!!

The food - Snacks, chocolate boxes, cheeses - it's all superior around this time of year. I also splurge a little on gammon ham joints this season as they make a great dinner. I LOVE Christmas dinner at my aunt's house, and I like to indulge in a heap of unhealthy goodies this time of year.
